JAMEION WORKS WITH CLIENTS AGES 12 AND UP SPECIALIZING IN ADDRESSING:
Depression, Anxiety, Anger and Men's Issues

Greetings! My name is Jameion Fowler, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has experience working with a variety of different populations throughout my career. I have served adolescents and adults coping with mental health and substance abuse challenges, while also working with children and families.

I am currently an Independently Licensed Social Work Clinician in both the states of North Carolina and South Carolina.

I have over 11 years of clinical experience working in various settings including behavioral intervention, substance abuse, community mental health and work with at-risk youth.

I also have significant experience working with those dealing with grief while having my own personal experience in this space.  In 2022, I lost my twin brother to an automobile collision. This loss rocked me to my core, and I traversed through the stages of grief over time. In fact, I am still doing my own work through grief as it is a long-term process.

Given my professional and personal experiences, I can certainly empathize with those in the throes of grief, as well as the depression, anxiety and trauma that often come with grief. I know and understand all too well the need for intentionality in working toward healing and coming to terms with such a loss.

I have experience with a number of different modalities and treatment approaches used in therapy. These include individual, group, family, and couples therapy, as well as various therapeutic techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Over the course of treatment, we will use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-inspired and trauma-informed techniques and interventions to assist you in learning to recognize where distortions in thinking are creating problems, and how to reevaluate them in exchange for more balanced and reality-based interpretations. I will encourage you to help you gain a better understanding of the behaviors and motivations of others. We will incorporate these techniques and other essential activities to assist you in using problem-solving skills and self-care techniques to cope with difficult situations while learning to develop a greater sense of confidence in your own abilities.

Our work will be designed to address:
•       Men’s issues
•       Adolescents
•       Couples Work
•       Family Therapy
•       Grief
•       Anxiety
•       Depression
•       Trauma-informed challenges

I am happy and blessed to be a part of Perry Counseling Healing and Recovery and I look forward to collaborating with the team and working toward healing the greater communities of Charlotte and the Carolinas. Thanks for reading and don’t hesitate to reach out!
