Office Assistant/Peer Specialist

I am a Certified Peer Support Specialist, a Mental Health Advocate, a Trauma Informed Care team member with NAMI-Charlotte, a veteran of the US Air Force, and a woman with lived experience.

Through my own life's journey, filled with episodes of depression, I was determined to overcome the crippling effects of negative self-talk and learned ways in which I could silence my inner critic. Along the way, I discovered that the development of self-worth and self-awareness is one of the most powerful tools a person could ever possess. Since my revelation, I have been on a mission to help empower other individuals; in mind, body and spirit and i am now allowing my voice and my story to be told.

As a mental health advocate and Inspirational Speaker, I now use my personal life lessons of lived experience to help break the ice and start an engaging conversation amongst those struggling with mental and emotional stability by helping to provide them with the necessary tools, support and linking them to a safe space of healing.

I also have over 15 years experience working as an administrative/executive assistance for Pittsburgh City Counsel, the Department of the Army and the US Air Force.

I wanted nothing more but to appear “normal”, so I did everything in my power to divert attention away from my true self.
